In July 2023, Region 3 Behavioral Health Services received funds from the Nebraska Opioid Settlement Remediation Advisory Committee to fund opioid abatement strategies as identified in the opioid settlement agreements (Exhibit-E-Final-Distributor-Settlement-Agreement-8-11-21.pdf (attorneygeneral.gov)). Region 3 will be awarding $600,000 of opioid settlement funds for the first round of grant applications to fund programs and projects that will help address the ongoing opioid crisis through prevention, treatment, education and recovery strategies.
Any agency, organization, or community-based coalition within Region 3 Behavioral Health Services 22-county catchment area is invited to apply for these grant funds. To apply, applicants must complete the online grant application, submit a W-9, and complete a budget justification by the application deadline.

Through the State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant, here is a list of participating pharmacies within the Region 3 area where free boxes of NARCAN are available to be picked up. An individual can pick up to four boxes of NARCAN per day. Click here to see the list of participating pharmacies.
STOPODNE:
Stop Overdose Nebraska works to educate the public about life-saving NARCAN, a fast-acting drug that can save someone who is experiencing an opioid overdose. STOPODNE is also committed to providing information for resources to get people the help they need. Resources include; statewide participating pharmacies in the NARCAN program, Pharmacy Resources, First Responder Resources along with ordering NARCAN information, Treatment Centers, and Veterans Resources.

Drug Deactivation:
Through the State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant, Region 3 receives funding to provide drug disposal pouches that properly dispose of prescription drugs and help prevent any drug misuse. Deterra can dispose of pills, patches and liquids. Pouches are for any Businesses, Health Care Providers , Government Entities and Personal Use.
