Prevention is an important component of the continuum of care in behavioral health. Regional prevention staff provide or identify local resources to offer training, technical assistance and system coordination to communities and community coalitions to implement evidence-based policies, programs and practices to address substance abuse prevention, mental health promotion and suicide prevention. Prevention staff work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups throughout the region to achieve National Outcome Measures (NOMs).
